A historic change for women's rights 🔥
What a pleasure to start your day like: I have news that will certainly delight you and give you maximum energy. Mexico has taken a crucial step forward for women's rights : on September 6, the country's Supreme Court decided to decriminalize abortion throughout the country. And yes, it's huge.
Abortion was only allowed in Mexico City 😱
To put things into context,Abortion was mainly authorized in Mexico, the capital, since 2007. But this new decision opens doors and offers opportunities for all Mexican women, regardless of where they live.
The supreme court 100% in favor 💪
The Court did not mince its words. She said that criminalize abortion went against women's human rights. And if we look back, already in 2021, the Court emphasized the unconstitutionality of the criminalization of abortion. Today, twelve of Mexico's thirty-two states have already adopted this progressive vision and this new decision by the Supreme Court should Allow IGV to be given a boost in states that do not yet practice it.
To the delight of all, some countries, like Mexico, are making choices to strengthen women's rights. Luckily, people around the world are fighting for it! One thing is certain: we are 100% behind them.
